Make over by a celeb make up artist.......

Ok so first of all I am soooo sorry for the lack of blog posts lately- I have been really busy working on some very exciting upcoming projects that I am sure I will be blogging about in due course.

During this busy but super interest and exciting few months I have had the amazing opportunity of working with a top celebrity make up artist and I have to say I thought I was pretty clued up about make up before but what I have learnt these last few months has been fantastic and completely changed my style and made me look so much younger. Would you like me to let you in on my new make up secrets?

Well first of all the most amazing make up artist I have ever met told me she hated my foundation (angered and upset- yes I was!!) For those of you that use or have ever used Estee Lauder Double Wear I am sure you will agree with me when I say it is so hard to stop using it- there really is no other foundation that provides the same coverage and lasts all day (and night too) like this does, but I did agree to change foundation for a while (well it did mean I got my make up done by a professional every day for a couple of weeks).

My make-up regime before the make over:

Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation in Pale Almond
Clinique True Bronze pressed powder in Sunkissed
Estee Lauder Double Wear gel eyeliner in Black
YSL mascara in Black
Clinique blusher in Iced Lotus
Any old blotting powder

The professionals regime:

Chanel Pro Lumiere foundation in shade 30
Mac blotting powder
Chanel Soleil Tan De Chanel bronzing make up base
Mac eyeliner (in black on the top and a grey eyeshadow on the bottom line)
Bourjois Volume Glamour Max mascara in black
Mac blusher

The results.......

I must admit at first my new look was a bit of a shock, and I wasnt sure I liked it but didn't want to sound rude or unappreciative so I left it and as the day went on I received compliment after compliment about how well I looked. I thought to myself maybe it will just take a while to get use to, so I let the make up artist do my make up for me each day and it really did grow on me. I think it was just the initial shock that put me off at first. I am not saying now I hate double wear foundation I have just realised I dont need it- its far too heavy for my skin and I am fortunate enough to have healthy looking clear skin (thanks to Sudacrem) so there really is no need to plaster my face with such a thick foundation. I may still use double wear mixed with Chanel for a nice evening look but will never ever be using it by itself again.

I really really really love the Chanel bronzer too- I always bought Clinique bronzer and blusher because it's oil free and I cannot stand oily skin, but I dont have oily skin so buying oil free products as a precausion is silly really.

Soleil Tan De Chanel

Anyways although my new make up was really expensive after seeing the change and the huge improvement to how I look I felt it a necessity to invest in all of the products (and a few more). The only thing I didnt bother getting was the Mac blusher- I have recently bought an Estee Lauder silky powder blusher in pink kiss, so I may turn to Mac once this one has run out! Oh and the Chanel Pro Lumiere foundation has been discontinued :( which made me really sad, but I am very pleased to announce that Chanel Lift Lumiere is a fabulous alternative.
